Business Development Representative

Dreamscape Learn, a leading pioneer in the realm of immersive XR educational products, is actively seeking a top-performing Business Development Representative (BDR) to be an integral member of our Academic Partnerships team.

The BDR is responsible for driving inbound and outbound prospecting, lead generation, and early-stage sales engagement with senior academic and technical leaders at universities and colleges.  They will work closely with Regional Directors of Academic Partnerships to identify target accounts, qualify leads, and schedule introductory sales presentations.

BDRs must demonstrate the skills, experience, and gravitas required to effectively engage with senior-level decision makers in K12 and higher education institutions such as Presidents, Provosts, Deans, and CIOs, as well as faculty, instructional designers, and IT professionals.

Responsibilities

Goal attainment:

  • Consistently exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual assigned lead generation and prospect qualification goals.

Manage and qualify inbound leads:

  • Respond promptly to inbound sales inquiries and request for information.
  • Qualify leads by understanding their needs, challenges, and decision-making processes using BANT criteria.
  • Where appropriate based on company’s sales process, schedule discovery calls for the Regional Directors of Academic Partnerships.

Prospecting & Lead Generation:

  • Identify and engage potential university and college partners through outreach campaigns, cold calls, emails, and networking.
  • Research institutions to understand their needs, challenges, and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support outbound lead generation campaigns.
  • Maintain a steady pipeline of qualified leads for the HE Sales team.

Pipeline Development & CRM Management:

  • Maintain and organize lead information in Salesforce in a timely manner.
  • Track lead status, follow-up actions, and next steps to ensure consistent engagement.
  • Provide insights on lead conversion trends and optimize outreach strategies.

Outreach & Relationship Building:

  • Initiate impactful introductory conversations with senior academic leaders, deans, and CIOs.
  • Effectively communicate Dreamscape Learn’s value proposition about increasing student engagement and improving learning outcomes for all students.
  • Schedule introductory meetings and demos for the Sales team.

Sales Support & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Regional Directors of Academic Partnership to handoff qualified lads smoothly and develop targeted sales strategies for different higher education institutions.
  • Support RFP (Request for Proposal) processes, proposals, and presentations.
  • Help refine lead nurturing strategies and engagement techniques.
  • Assist in content development for outreach campaigns.

  •  3+ years of business development, sales, or EdTech experience, preferably in higher education
  • Passion for innovation in education
  • Proven track record of significantly growing the top of the sales funnel, handling inbound lead response and researching, prospecting, engaging, and qualifying decision-makers
  • Verifiable record of gaining access to key decision makers at senior levels in universities and colleges
  • Proven experience in successfully transitioning partially qualified leads to field sales counterparts for outbound sales pursuit
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Critical thinker and creative problem solver with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable with outbound outreach
  • Experience with Salesforce and sales automation platforms
