Purpose (Why the role exists): The Director of Catering + Events, Sonoma, is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics for Catering + Events, including securing new business, maintaining existing relationships, managing the Catering + Events team members, and executing tactical plans to maximize the profitability of the Foley Hospitality hotels and wineries throughout Sonoma County. The Director of Catering + Events, Sonoma, is responsible for executing the day-to-day activities related to Catering + Events within the Foley Hospitality portfolio. In addition to leading the Catering + Events team members, this is a selling role with booking and servicing goals. Core Tasks (What you are responsible for): This role will involve a variety of tasks, with your primary responsibilities outlined below Lead and manage all day-to-day activities related to the Catering + Events Managers and functions and drive top-line revenue strategy for the Catering + Events segments at our Sonoma County properties. Work with Vice President of Sales + Marketing to develop Catering + Events team annual budget and booking goals and manage against them to ensure revenues are met or exceeded. Achieve individual quarterly and annual Sales + Upsell goals in corporate, association, and non-profit segments. Responsible for updating monthly Banquet and Catering forecasts for assigned properties. Work closely with appropriate operational departments at each property to enhance service delivery and overcome challenges Ensure function spaces are being properly utilized to yield maximum revenues. Own/manage third-party vendor relationships. Conduct site tours and entertain clients in accordance with company and property policies. Skills & Qualifications (What you need to bring): Must be proficient in event contractual agreements, strategic negotiations, quoting pricing, and the management of accounts. Ability to analyze reports and develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes and top line revenue Experience managing Catering + Events team members Proven track record of building and maintaining business relationships that result in sales Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department Ability to think clearly, quickly, and make concise decisions Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met. Previous experience in a luxury environment.
