Designer - Workplace Interiors - Junior

Your Role  

As a Gensler Designer your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging.  

   

What You Will Do   

  • Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation. 
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting  
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.  
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts  
  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators  
  • Our studio focuses on a broad range of project types such as Tech, Financial Service, Professional Service and Sports Workplaces, as well as Healthcare, Life science, Building Repositioning and Strategy Consulting. 

  

Your Qualifications   

  • Effective Communication amongst internal team members, consultants, vendors and clients. 
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and collaborative attitude  
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field from an accredited school  
  • 2-5 years of interior design experience  
  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and other modeling software programs. Able to learn new software and interest in adapting innovative technologies to existing processes.  
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required; Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, specially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certification.  
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)  
  • Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications  
  • Exceptional graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design intent  

  

*This is not a remote position. This position is expected to be in the office full-time.

*The base salary will be estimated between $75,000 - $95,000 annually plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
