As a Physician Assistant, you will be essential in assessing and treating individuals with substance use disorders, often addressing their co-occurring conditions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing thorough medical assessments, utilizing withdrawal assessment tools to direct appropriate interventions, and prescribing withdrawal medications under supervision. You’ll also monitor patients for any signs of health deterioration and document their progress meticulously in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with agency policies. Your role will not only involve patient care but also offer the chance to mentor and guide fellow healthcare staff on best practices, contributing to a safe and clean treatment environment. To join us, you need to have an active PA license in California and ideally, possess 6 months to a year of experience in substance use disorder or mental health. We also value bilingual candidates who can communicate in languages such as Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese.
