Role Summary

The Horizon Air High School Internship program is designed to give high school students the opportunity to develop the skills and experience that are critical to any professional career while gaining hands-on experience and a good understanding of what it’s like to work for the operation of an airline.

Key Duties

  • Gain experience and insight into the operation of the Flight Operations and Maintenance divisions.
  • Participate in a variety of hands-on aviation-related experiences and activities, including but not limited to projects, tours, job shadows, trainings, workshops and more.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day functions of a dynamic work environment.
  • May assist with a variety of ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • Internships are open to students who are currently enrolled in or have previously participated in the Central Kitsap School District Aviation Program.
  • Must be a current high school junior.
  • Interest in aviation and the airline industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and a team-player.
  • Able to commit to program timeline over 3 weeks during summer 2025.
  • Able to secure daily transportation to and from the SeaTac airport and/or Paine Field Airport.
  • Able to travel by air between Seattle and Portland for intern activities (air travel will be covered by the company).
  • Must have parent or guardian permission to participate in the internship program.
  • Minimum age of 16 by June 1, 2025.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
