Role Overview:

As a Data Center Engineer at IEX, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical data center operations. This hands-on role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and networking equipment, collaborating with the technology team, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple data center locations. You’ll work in a dynamic environment where adaptability and problem-solving skills are key to success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and network issues and collaborate with senior technical team members to resolve complex problems.
  • Monitor and manage data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Assist with routine data center operations, including installing NIC cards, modifying cabling, and replacing memory and hard drives.
  • Assist in cabling, racking, and decommissioning of IT equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of data center assets, cabling diagrams, and system configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices for security, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support IT projects, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Respond to technical incidents and support requests in a timely manner.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, networking, and IT hardware.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a team to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding environments.

  • Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and IT service management (ITSM) processes.
  • Understanding of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $90,000 to $130,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.
