IMEG is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Graduate – Designer 1 in our Bozeman office. As a Structural Engineering Graduate – Designer 1, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and development of documents for structural systems.
Principal Responsibilities
• Assist in the design of structural systems using a variety of building materials, such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
• Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements such as ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, and IBC.
• Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
• Work as part of a project team to support the execution of projects.
• Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients.
• Analyze complex engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
• Engage in the full life cycle of projects from conception through construction by developing designs, and construction documents. Participating in construction administration duties, and job site observations.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Familiar with concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education and Experience
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
• Master’s Degree (MS) or pursuit of a Master's in Structural Engineering preferred
• Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
• Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
Salary Range: $72,000 - $75,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
