Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Content Manager to support our Editorial team. Reporting to the Editorial Content Director, you will oversee the development of editorial projects from start to finish.

You will have an editorial background to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop editorial projects, ensuring a efficient workflow from project initiation to completion.
  • Work with the Editorial Team to maintain a detailed structure for project management.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Client Management to confirm brand onboarding materials, to understand the brand's tone of voice and identity.
  • Develop and agree upon project timelines with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and use brand strategy briefs to incorporate key insights about the brand into editorial content creation.
  • Develop content strategies and editorial content calendars.
  • Maintain the editorial content calendar as the core tracking document for deliverables throughout the project.
  • Incorporate updates from the Editorial, Design, and other relevant teams.
  • Maintain an editorial style guide to incorporate brand-specific stylistic and grammatical call-outs into the content creation process.

Qualifications

  • English proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in editorial role with a strong understanding of project management and content creation processes.
  • Strong Grammar and Syntax Knowledge: Expertise in grammar rules, sentence structure, and punctuation.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting.
  • Knowledge of Style Guides: Familiarity with major style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago, MLA) and the ability to apply them consistently.
  • Excellent Vocabulary: A wide-ranging vocabulary to ensure clarity and precision in writing.
  • Consistency in Voice and Tone: Ability to maintain the appropriate tone and voice for different types of content.
  • Editing for Clarity and Flow: Skill in improving sentence structure, eliminating redundancies, and making the text easy to read.
  • Knowledge of SEO Principles: Understanding SEO and the ability to ensure that content is optimized for search engines without compromising readability.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfort with editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, track changes, style sheets, etc.) and online research.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to question the content for logical consistency, tone, and whether the message is effectively communicated.
