Summer School Assistant - Let's Go on Safari! (Ebersole)

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. Job Description:  These staff members (2 LEA) would be responsible for attending Ebersole’s mandatory summer camp training on June 11 and one day camp (see details below).   Onsite staff members will be asked to assist in facilitating/leading camp sessions (all materials and training will be provided in advance).  These staff members are expected to ride the bus with students to and from camp for each session.  If you love nature and hands-on education, then this is the summer position for you.   

 

Camp Description:  Get ready for an expedition to Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park with the Ebersole Team!  This thrilling Safari day will take campers on a wild journey where they'll get up close and personal with amazing animals.  Experience a private animal encounter, hand-feed some of their favorite creatures, and hop aboard the Safari bus for an epic ride through the park, spotting exotic wildlife from all around the globe in their natural habitats! It’s a day packed with excitement, discovery, and making memories!


Staff Training = June 11

CAMP: Grades K-2 = July 29   


Qualifications Required:
  • Successful experience working with students in K-12 settings;  
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality planning and engaging content delivery;   
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills;
  • Experience and/or willingness to be trained in project-based learning (PREFERRED);
  • Willingness to think creatively about content design and ways to assess student learning; and   
  • Commitment to working closely with Ebersole director and staff.
