Strategic Communications Consultant

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic communications consultant to join our GWAM Participant Outcomes team, supporting US Retirement. This role will be responsible for servicing our Mid/Large Segment of customers and is pivotal in developing and executing communication strategies that enhance participant outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retirement planning, communications, and consulting, with a passion for helping individuals achieve their retirement goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic communication projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with client objectives and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle as well as efficient prioritization and seamless coordination across teams and tasks.
  • Develop Communication Strategies: Create and implement communication strategies, recommendations, campaigns, and programs to improve participant outcomes around savings, investing behaviors, and overall retirement preparedness.
  • Content Creation: Develop educational content for plan participants.
  • Client Engagement: Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of participant communications for plan sponsor clients.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external clients to share best practices and drive greater consideration of our participant experience and resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic communications, retirement planning, or consulting.
  • Skills:
    • Exhibit exceptional organizational skills.
    • Display effective decision making.
    • Efficient management of time and resources to maximize productivity.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
    • Proficient in creating engaging content and educational materials.
    • Excellent client-facing, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with retirement plans or financial literacy programs.
  • Knowledge of retirement plan industry.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in retirement planning and communications.

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
