The Product Engineering Intern will report to the Manager, Product Engineering and be part of MasterBrand’s Premium product engineering team. The internship's purpose is to assist with key Premium operations initiatives and provide insight into the industry. This position involves product engineering support, primarily focusing on AutoCAD drawing projects for standardizing product documentation. Additionally, the selected student will spend the internship working with the product engineering team to develop and revise drawings for various cabinet components and assemblies.
Responsibilities:
Creates and revises shop floor drawings to support manufacturing processes, as well as master drawings for cabinet components and assemblies.
Supports with rapid prototype request as needed.
Proposes improvement opportunities.
Consistently demonstrates the MasterBrand Way, positioning the company for growth and helping identify opportunities to reduce waste, complexity, and improve our work environment.
Demonstrates teamwork by responsively collaborating with management and staff, sharing information and ideas, proactively seeking, and accepting constructive feedback.

Performs other duties as assigned.
College or university student with an Engineering focus preferred.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.
Prior project experience preferred.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
Basic math skills, specifically with fractions.
Effective communication (written and verbal); clearly, concisely and with context communicate objectives and expectations with team members and management.
Requires the ability to collaborate with the team, exhibit professionalism in interactions, and present an approachable demeanor.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Physical Requirements
The individual must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time and have the mobility to work in a standard manufacturing setting, interacting with various equipment and parts. The individual must have the ability to read printed materials and a computer screen. Effective communication is necessary so that information and ideas are understood by others. The job includes working on slippery surfaces. Finger dexterity is required to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. The individual must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role at the Sioux Falls, SD - Manufacturing Plant. The individual must adhere to the designated work schedule, complete tasks, and meet deadlines effectively and efficiently. The role involves exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, and moving objects or vehicles. It typically requires working indoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, inclement weather, chemicals, mechanical hazards, and hazardous substances and fumes.
