The Role:
Moderna Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Software Engineer for its Seattle, Washington location.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Contribute to build and integration projects in a dynamic, fast-moving, agile environment.
Deliver code enhancements for software builds including refactoring or deprecating existing code.
Develop working code based on given a functional definition of a problem such as the inputs, outputs, and logic, while demonstrating an understanding of the business and customer value of the assigned software.
Separate disparate components from each other and build software with more than one component.
Understand common tradeoffs among aspects of the code bar such as efficiency versus maintainability.
Work closely with product owners to understand business needs and design solutions.
Develop innovative and intuitive web applications as part of a team to transform business, engineering processes, and capabilities.
Deploy, improve, and support applications in a constantly evolving Cloud environment.
Monitor and analyze application performance, resilience, and effectiveness.
Contribute to creating managed services and control planes to drive automation and analytics.
Collaborate with team members using best-in-industry software engineering tools and processes such as source control and code review obtained from feedback on code developed.
Follow an established procedure to diagnose and identify the root cause of problems with existing software.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Minimum requirements:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, or related position.
Must have at least 3 years of experience with:
Developing software systems using Amazon Web Services (AWS);
Writing Code in Java to develop software solutions;
Building REST APIs;
Configuring containers leveraging Kubernetes to make scalable and portable solutions; and
Architecture and system design for software systems.
May telecommute one (1) day per week.
Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $144,000 to $230,500. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case. The minimum target pay for this particular position based on the primary location of the position is $190,486-$230,500.
