We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Salesperson to join our team, specializing in selling IT solutions to educational institutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the E-Rate program, including its application process, funding, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional who can build relationships, identify client needs, and deliver tailored technology solutions to schools and districts. This is a remote position, preferably based in the US Southeast. The role will require occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the K-12 and higher education markets.
Work closely with the sales team to uncover and support E-Rate opportunities in their respective regions.
Act as a trusted advisor to partners and end customers by understanding their technology needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
Guide clients through the E-Rate program, including funding applications, eligible services, and compliance requirements.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet E-Rate guidelines.
Stay updated on E-Rate program changes and communicate updates to clients and colleagues.
Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s IT products and services, including networking, cloud solutions, hardware, software, and managed services.
Customize sales presentations and proposals to address the unique needs of educational institutions.
Analyze market trends and identify opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the education sector.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company’s offerings.
Provide feedback to product development and marketing teams on customer needs and emerging trends.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or related field.
Proven track record in IT sales, preferably within the education sector.
Strong understanding of the E-Rate program, including eligible services and funding processes.
Knowledge of IT solutions such as networking, cloud computing, hardware, and software.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A self-starting, ambitious personality that takes pride in the success of their business.
Strong knowledge of Salesforce.
Up to 30% travel.
