Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an opening for a Construction Crew Intern at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.
This is a paid internship scheduled to begin in May 2025 and conclude in August 2025. The standard work schedule consists of four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What You Will Do:
This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction and site development. As a Construction Crew Intern, you’ll work directly alongside skilled professionals and contribute to critical tasks that support safe and efficient field operations.
In this role, you will:
· Assist with trenching and excavation tasks on active construction sites
· Support conduit installation, including layout and alignment work
· Help form and pour concrete for various site and infrastructure applications
· Participate in fence installation, including measurement, post setting and assembly
· Assist with general construction site preparation, cleanup and material handling
· Learn and follow safety procedures and industry best practices
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable intern with a strong interest in construction and site work. This role is ideal for someone looking to build foundational skills in the trade. In addition, we are looking for:
· Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a formal educational program, such as an Associate’s degree, certificate, or other recognized training program, related to Construction, Engineering Technology, Skilled Trades or a similar field
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
· Demonstrated reliability, teamwork and strong communication skills
· Basic understanding of construction tools and safety practices
· Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced crew members
