Tractor Trailer Driver

Overview

PACKAGE PAVEMENT® a manufacturer of QUIKRETE® and Spec Mix ® products in Ravena, NY is currently recruiting for a full time organized, enthusiastic and experienced Class A (Flatbed) Driver to join our delivery team.  

 

Candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a flatbed driver with clean MVR and CSA.  Candidate must be comfortable making deliveries to NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DOT pre- and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer.
  • Reads delivery ticket to determine assignment and is responsible to inspect and inventory product loaded on trailer.
  • Fastens straps to secure load on trailer during transit following DOT guidelines.
  • Maintains driver log according to government regulations.  Maintains mileage and TMT records as required.
  • Operates tractor/trailer observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Assists in unloading product on trailer by using forklift/piggyback when required. 
  • Obtains necessary signatures on delivery tickets and product returns following company guidelines.   Returns completed paperwork to dispatcher upon return to worksite.  
  • Collects payment for COD deliveries. 
  • Responsible for documenting any and all returned material on proper company paperwork to be returned to dispatcher. 
  • Ensures deliveries are “on time” per schedule; immediately reports any delays to dispatcher.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner.

 

Drivers are paid per mile, averaging $90,000 / year.
