Business Intelligence Analyst

Do you want to help us on our journey to build the ultimate online playground?

Hey - we're Poki! We're a tech scale-up on a mission to create the ultimate online playground. Currently, more than 90 million monthly players around the world come to us for easy access to the best games, created by our thriving game developer community consisting of 500+ game developer teams. We're always looking for new insights and opportunities to increase the value we offer to players and game developers, and so we’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst.

What this role is about:

Poki is a multisided platform designed so players from all over the world have easy and free access to the best games, while our game developer community is able to generate earnings. The developers release their games through our platform, Poki for Developers, where they can test, iterate and evaluate their games. In order to monetise the games we work with a select group of advertisers, ensuring quality advertisements on the playground.

Our analysts are responsible for providing the rest of the team with opportunities. Through actionable insights they help both the internal team, and our game developers to grow and create business value from petabytes of raw data.

Your challenge as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Poki:
  • Grow our player base by improving the efficiency of our marketing. Look into the ways that players find us so we can double down on what works and improve what doesn’t.
  • Help the team talking to game developers to understand what games to focus on. Which games can grow our playground. And do we serve the needs of our players when it comes to content.
  • Find ways to improve the value we deliver to our players on the playground. Help to improve the discoverability of games by evaluating common patterns and understanding how we can make the experience better.
  • Spot opportunities to improve our monetisation logic. We control the timing and placement of advertisements. Look into the monetisation patterns for different segments of players and help to find the right balance between play and ads.

You could be our Business Intelligence Analyst if:
  • You’re a critical thinker, and have 4+ years experience as an analyst
  • You’re business savvy, and eager to optimize for performance
  • You’re curious to understand the complex dynamics of a multi-sided platform (balancing the needs of players, game developers, and advertisers).
  • You have experience with structuring data with SQL (BigQuery, Snowflake or similar products).
  • You have experience with data visualization (Lookerstudio, Tableau or similar products).
  • You are based in The Netherlands, and able to work on-site regularly at our office in Amsterdam.

Why work at Poki:
  • Direct impact on the experience of our community of 500+ game developers, and our 90 million monthly players.
  • A lot of personal responsibility and freedom, plus the chance to work together with a diverse, international, talented and self-motivated team.
  • Play is how we learn; we make sure everyone is being challenged and and offer an annual training budget.
  • Opportunity to connect with colleagues through work retreats, drinks every Thursday and team activities.
  • A full time contract and opportunity to join our Employee Participation Plan
  • A hybrid work environment that includes a vibrant office environment with catered lunch, flexible working hours, work from home budget, and travel costs covered for those living outside of Amsterdam.
