Sales Director, Military MRO

Are you seeking a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise and passion for sales to expand TAT Technologies’ footprint in the Military MRO market?

As a seasoned sales military expert, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing TAT’s presence at Air Force, Navy, and Army bases. Your mission will involve identifying critical MRO opportunities and fostering long-term strategic relationships within sustainment, engineering, and contracting offices. You will lead the entire sales journey—from business development to account management, driving success through your dedication and skills.

***This role will be based at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC or remote candidates will be considered***

Main Responsibilities

  • Establishing and sustaining long-term strategic relationships within the US military branches
  • Growing our pipeline to allow us to double our MRO business within a 2-year timeframe, with a specific focus on understanding the metrics and delivering on revenue and margin targets for short-term and long-term opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a defined and structured sales/business plan to penetrate a portfolio of assigned military bases and 3rd party logistics companies to grow new business within the US DoD and foreign military
  • Sell across our diverse product portfolio with an emphasis on clear and articulate value propositions to address current market dynamics and competitive intelligence while communicating trends monthly on sales operating review. 
  • Establish a strong reputation and foothold within assigned military branches
  • Identify and lead the development process of SAR opportunities
  • Participating in industry days within the US military branches
  • Update Salesforce and other internal tracking processes daily to ensure sales deliverables are delivered on schedule to support group commitments with a high level of personal accountability to your individual results.
  • Create required internal approval presentations and external bid packages for the overall sales processes utilizing exceptional understandings of business acumen and market knowledge while closely coordinating with finance, production sites and other key departments.
  • Drive the end-to-end pursuit process with a winning mentality ensuring obstacles are identified early and overcome to ensure deals are closed on time with maximum value to the customer while achieving assigned self and company metrics.
  • Maintain an updated, relevant and accurate database of the accounts and pursuits in Salesforce on a daily basis and be able to articulate status clearly to all management levels up to and including “C” suite on the sales monthly operating review.
  • Effectively utilize tools such as PowerPoint and Excel daily to develop clear and convincing value propositions internally and externally with specific attention to understanding the financial buildup of respective deal structures prior to submitting recommendations to TAT Technologies leadership teams.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications

  •  Five (5+) years of direct military MRO sales experience
  • Successful history of managing and growing military sales within the US branches
  • Existing US military relationships network  
  • Understanding of FAR and DFAR regulation and TINA negotiations
  • Bachelor’s degree is an advantage
  • Travel (approximately 50-75%)
  • Capable to think strategically and creatively 
  • Experience in identifying, negotiating and winning multiyear contracts
  • Must have interpersonal skills that effectively can connect with people
  • Must be able to deliver convincing and concise proposals and presentations and be able to communicate effectively in person or using any medium.
  • Knowledge of the use of CRM, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
