The goal of the Equitable Public Funding Access Strategy is to support increased access to public funding to achieve community-driven outcomes for climate mitigation, adaptation and biodiversity. This position will play a key role in the work of this team and support the advancement of equitable public funding strategies. The Public Funding Project Manager will identify public funding opportunities aligned with project needs and provide project management and technical assistance for internal and external public funding proposal development. An initial focus for this role will be public funding opportunities related to climate adaptation and the priorities of urban and frontline communities.The Responsibilities Of The Public Funding Project Manager Include:• Supporting the development and communication of an internal funding database focused on public grant opportunities that align with conservation goals of The Nature Conservancy in Washington, with specific focus on identifying funding opportunities that align with urban and frontline communities’ priorities.• Providing project management support and coordination of small to large-scale complex public funding proposals, processes, and programs in collaboration with internal and external partners.• Identify and coordinate delivery of relevant technical assistance to support external partners in the conception and implementation of public funding.• Support partnerships with relevant agencies, organizations and Tribes.• Participate as a team member in a highly collaborative atmosphere, regularly working with other strategy and functional teams in Washington, including Government Relations and Climate – focused staff.• Coordinate meetings and activities related to specific projects and proposals to support the goals of the Equitable Public Funding Access strategy team and the Washington Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.With a historic level of public funding coming available, the Public Funding Project Manager will be part of a team to best position TNC and partners to access and steer resources toward higher and more equitable impact.WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUAre you interested in supporting communities across Washington access public funding to achieve their climate and community priorities? Come join TNC and apply today!WHAT YOU'LL BRING• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination.• Experience preparing, presenting, and communicating project proposals and/or soliciting project support from government agencies.• Experience coordinating and managing multiple projects in collaboration with others.• Experience presenting to diverse audiences including some or all of the following: internal and external executives, donors, members, board members, and the public or equivalent.• Familiarity with state and federal funding programs and processes.• Experience working with non-profit and community partners, and government agencies.• Research, writing, editing, and verbal communication experience.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Ability to act in accordance with the Washington equity statement and Washington statement of commitment to Indigenous Peoples ; be respectful of differences of identity and/or beliefs, and successfully work across those differences to meet work objectives.• Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.• Familiarity with and interest in issues and priorities related to air quality, urban forestry, workforce development and other climate adaptation priorities.• Understanding of equity and justice intersections with public funding practices.• Experience collaborating with frontline and community-based organizations.• Experience coordinating complex projects in a decentralized organization, working across teams, operating units and functions to achieve optimal results.• Experience building networks, facilitating informational sessions, increasing internal knowledge and capacity, and identifying key stakeholders.• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.WHAT WE BRINGSince 1951, TNC has been doing work you can believe in. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
