Program Leader

As a Program Leader at Think Together, your primary responsibilities include leading a group of 20-25 students in an engaging and safe environment, acting as a positive role model, and supporting students in making positive behavior choices. You'll implement classroom management strategies and serve as a mentor to foster a sense of belonging. Additionally, you’ll assist with homework, provide academic enrichment, and participate in staff development activities.

To become a Program Leader at Think Together, you'll need a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Additionally, you may require specific district credentials, including 48 semester/60 quarter units or passing a pre-employment test. You should have at least six months of experience working with kids in classroom settings and possess excellent communication skills. Being bi-literate, particularly in Spanish, is also preferred.

As a Program Leader, you'll take attendance, manage sign-ins and sign-outs, and actively monitor students to ensure a secure and nurturing atmosphere.

The pay rate for a Program Leader at Think Together is $20 per hour. This is a part-time position that allows you to work flexible hours, making it a great opportunity for those looking to balance work with other commitments.

To maintain a positive learning environment, I focus on establishing clear expectations with my students while promoting respect and inclusivity. I often use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behavior and routinely check in with students to address any concerns they may have.

When encountering a disruptive student, I first assess the situation and address the behavior calmly and firmly, reminding the student of our behavior guidelines. If necessary, I might have a private conversation to understand their feelings and offer support, ensuring they feel heard and valued while helping them to redirect their actions appropriately.

I have over six months of experience working directly with groups of children in recreational and academic environments. In that time, I've refined my classroom management skills, developed engaging lesson plans, and learned how to adapt my teaching style to meet the diverse needs of my students.
