Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced & entrepreneurial Data Engineer to build and own the foundational data infrastructure at Traba. You will have the unique opportunity to design, architect, and scale our data platform, enabling advanced analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the company. You will report directly to the CTO and be a key member of the Data team, working closely with analytics and business stakeholders to ensure that our data is reliable, scalable, and actionable.

  • You are a highly skilled data engineer who thrives on building from scratch, designing scalable and efficient data infrastructure.

  • You work independently and take full ownership of the data infrastructure while collaborating closely with analytics, engineering, and business teams.

  • You build for scale and automation, ensuring that your solutions are robust, maintainable, and cost-effective.

  • You are pragmatic—you balance shipping fast and iterating with designing for long-term scalability.

You Will

  • Architect and build the company’s scalable data infrastructure, ensuring our data pipelines are robust, reliable, and optimized for performance.

  • Own and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using tools like dbt, Airflow, Spark, and/or Snowflake/Databricks.

  • Develop and maintain data models that serve as the foundation for analytics, reporting, and operational insights.

  • Collaborate with data analysts and software engineers to design pipelines that transform raw data into actionable insights.

  • Implement data governance best practices, ensuring high data quality, lineage, and observability.

  • Support the adoption of a modern data stack, making technical decisions that will define our data engineering approach for years to come.

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and AI and incorporate them into the team's practices.

  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure our data infrastructure is aligned with company objectives.

You Have

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a track record of building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

  • Expertise in SQL and data modeling for both analytics and operational use cases.

  • Experience with modern data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

  • Strong background in ETL/ELT development using dbt, Airflow, or Spark.

  • Proficiency in Python or equivalent for data processing and automation.

  • A deep understanding of data pipeline performance tuning, cost efficiency, and observability.

  • Experience owning and scaling data infrastructure independently.

  • A strong bias toward automation, ensuring that data pipelines are robust, reliable, and easy to maintain.
