Product Analyst Brokerage (f/m/d)

Upvest is on a mission to make investing as easy as spending money. The company empowers businesses to offer a wide range of investment products and the best experience in the field of capital market investment and retirement planning. Upvest’s Investment API is easy to integrate so that fintechs and enterprises alike can save resources and fully focus on their core business.‍

Upvest is one of the few fintechs in Europe that can provide its B2B clients with the full range of investment opportunities in the areas of principal broking business, proprietary trading, and safe custody business for traditional securities. Upvest’s clients include some of the biggest Fintechs in Europe such as Revolut, N26 and Raisin. The company was founded in 2017 by Martin Kassing and currently employs more than 180 people across Europe. Its latest €100m fundraising round (Series C) was led by Hedosophia and Sapphire Venture, with continued support from existing investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Motive Ventures, and Notion Capital.

We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. Our mission and vision is to make investing as easy as spending money.

As Upvest enters the next stage of growth, we are looking for an exceptional Brokerage Product Analyst. You will work directly with Mislav Ilich and Pim Hannay owning topics critical to Upvest’s success:

Ownership of product analytics across a whole tribe

You’ll structure, understand and curate a vast treasure-trove of data of all kinds across the Brokerage tribe. As product analytics for this scope, you’ll be critical to driving observability, monitoring and data discovery- a unique opportunity to enable joined-up product thinking.

Drive deep understanding of investment trends

You’ll be working in a fast-moving, ever-evolving industry, with end-user behaviour changing and reflecting market trends at the speed of light. Your ability to make sense of these shifts will empower building the investing infrastructure of tomorrow for our clients and millions of end-users.

Shape Upvest’s data culture

You’ll be contributing to improvements across the entire company's data infrastructure and best practices, cementing our culture as a data-driven organisation working at the cutting-edge of data and analytics.

What you can expect from this role:

  • Autonomy coupled with inspirational leadership: When we say empowered teams we mean it. In this role you will fully own product success with your domain - with your manager and senior leadership ready to support you at all times.

  • Product-centricity throughout the organisation: At Upvest we highly value the importance of product and our Product team’s work. No struggle for relevance that product people may encounter elsewhere.

  • Product Engineering culture: Teams are working together guided by joint OKRs and a clear roadmap. Collaborate closely with your engineering counterparts to deliver client value in a decoupled and dynamic manner.

  • An exceptional team: Upvest’s Product team is one of a kind when it comes to combining impactful work with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We have established strong practices around feedback, team health and social events.

  • Continuous learning: The complex yet fascinating field of investments, building an API product on a state-of-the-art tech stack, and working with the most relevant fintechs and financial institutions provide for an incredibly rewarding learning experience.

Role requirements

  • You have 2+ years in an analyst and/or data engineering role, covering data investigation, analysis (dashboards), ingestion (ETL pipelines)

  • Ideally with experience in Fintech, but we don’t need you to be an investing expert, but you will need to be able to absorb knowledge on complex topics quickly and combine this with your expertise on product analytics best practices

  • Proven ability to handle complex datasets, conduct risk-mitigating analyses, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills and experience with DBT, BigQuery, and Looker (or equivalents); Python proficiency is a plus. Comfortable with Git workflows, and exposure to metaprogramming is beneficial.

  • Excellent data storytelling skills, with the ability to break down complex data into easily understandable outputs, with strong stakeholder management.

  • Ability to structure, prioritise and solve independently to deliver tangible, value-generating product output

  • Excellent general communication skills, both written and verbal

Why Upvest?

  • We're working on solving a hard problem: fixing the European securities financial infrastructure that empowers more people to be able to invest. You have the opportunity to contribute to this change.

  • We invest in you. From access to a personal coach, development budget and plenty of opportunities to grow in your role.

  • We take hiring seriously with a strong focus on keeping a high bar when interviewing (equally important is that we also hire decent people who are passionate about their craft and helping us achieve our shared mission).

  • While we're not quite fully-remote, we are committed to being a flexible employer as we understand you don't have to be in the office to do your best work.

  • We live in a culture of empowerment, trust (that we hire the best people and get out of their way) and openness (there's a greater advantage in sharing information than keeping it to ourselves).

Our values:

  • Learn and grow. We aim high to shape our future. We give and request honest feedback knowing that we develop together. Progression over perfection.

  • Team first. We make it easy for others. We value our differences and are open to others' opinions. We win and celebrate together! Team over egos.

  • Own the outcome. Whether we win or we lose, we stand together. We are proactive and get the job done. Outcome over process.

  • Tell the story. We always start with the why. We share knowledge to empower others. Transparency over complexity.

We’re based in Berlin but also hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.
