Job Summary

 

Western Aircraft, a leader in the Business Aviation industry, is seeking a part-time Engineering Intern. Qualified candidates will be currently enrolled in a four-year engineering program in their final 2 years of a mechanical engineering degree. Candidates will also interpret blueprints, engineering drawings or sketches, and possess strong SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCad skills. This person must display a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills with the ability to problem solve complex issues.




Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists Engineering teams with CAD drawings
  • Gathers information to complete drawings in support of the Avionics, Maintenance, and Interiors departments
  • Updates drawings as per redlines
  • Performs other duties as directed 


Qualifications & Job Requirements
  • Experience & Competencies:
  • Effective problem-solving skills must be demonstrated with strong follow through required on communication and project completion
  • Ability to manage change and deadlines well
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and basic tools

  • Education & Certifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program in the second year or later.


Other Prerequisites
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge


Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise level. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screen to accomplish work. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and occasional lifting and carrying 50 pounds.
