Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful operation of the satellite constellation, these systems need to have mission-critical reliability, uptime, and performance.

Key job responsibilities
The Sys Dev Engineer is responsible to support suite of software applications and services to update software on constellation of satellites on Ground and in orbit. Your support will affect our customers directly! High Impact production requests and issues often require coordination between multiple Development, Product and Support teams, so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups. It’ll definitely help for you to be detail-oriented and a skilled problem solver, because you’ll also be helping us to streamline our processes—and automating them where applicable.
Primary responsibilities include executing OTA procedures, troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing tools, automation and monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code (Python / Go lang), updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges and improving operational excellence and readiness of the systems.
Some of the key job functions
Provide support of incoming requests, tickets, including executing the procedures to update software on Satellites during manufacturing, on ground labs and in orbit, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services.
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
