About the Team & Role 

As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Auger, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and scaling key components of our operating system architecture, which powers next-generation supply chain solutions. Your contributions will enable real-time insights, AI-driven optimizations, and seamless automation, fundamentally transforming how global logistics operate.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, where your responsibilities will go beyond coding. You will mentor and guide junior engineers, make impactful architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle the most challenging supply chain problems. You will work on a mix of core systems, scalable APIs, and AI integrations, delivering software that directly impacts businesses across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Driven Product Development

• Design and maintain scalable software for Auger’s SaaS platform, optimizing AI models and data pipelines to improve supply chain forecasting, planning, and management.

• Collaborate with AI scientists to integrate machine learning solutions into real-time, customer-facing applications.

Platform Engineering

• Architect and implement secure, high-performing systems capable of processing large-scale, real-time logistics data.

• Build and scale RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support the seamless integration of applications and services across the platform.

• Develop fault-tolerant, cloud-native microservices that prioritize performance and maintainability.

Architectural Influence

• Contribute to system-wide architectural decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term performance.

• Design solutions that integrate data processing, semantic intelligence, and AI workflows into the broader HelixOS ecosystem.

Mentorship and Collaboration

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high-quality code.

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including product managers and DevOps engineers, to ensure technical initiatives align with business objectives.

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and optimize DevOps pipelines for CI/CD, ensuring seamless deployment and system stability.

• Establish and monitor key metrics to track productivity, system performance, and project success.

Stay updated on emerging technologies, evaluating and integrating them into Auger’s platform to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including a proven track record of designing and scaling complex systems.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.:

• Strong hands-on coding skills in Python, Java, or C++ and a deep understanding of software engineering best practices.

• Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and building scalable, distributed systems.

• Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and modern system architecture patterns.

• Prior experience building and maintaining SaaS platforms or enterprise-grade applications.

• Proven ability to mentor and guide engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

• Experience contributing to architectural decisions and influencing system-wide technical direction.

• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with data engineers, AI scientists, and DevOps teams to deliver holistic solutions.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving high-impact technical challenges with creativity and rigor.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with supply chain systems or logistics is a plus.

• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their integration into scalable software systems.

• Deep understanding of real-time data processing, including tools like Kafka, Flink, or Spark.

• Knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with knowledge graphs or semantic layer integration.

• Understanding of streaming architectures and event-driven design patterns.

• Experience building secure systems, with an understanding of encryption, authentication, and compliance frameworks.
