We are hiring Camp Nurses for our two Colorado Overnight Camps: Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1-5) in Evergreen, CO and Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) in Bailey, CO. As a home away from home, we provide a safe space for campers to truly be themselves and our Camp Nurses play a vital role in creating this environment. You will provide direct care to both campers and staff to ensure the wellbeing of all camp residents. You will partner closely with the Assistant Director of Operations and Camper Support Specialist with overall clinical administration and operations and in keeping the health clinic in compliance with all regulatory agencies. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact for dozens of campers this summer.
Priority will be given to candidates that are able to work the entire summer, however, candidates that are able to work either the first half (6/1 - 7/4) or second half (7/6 - 8/2) of the season are also encouraged to apply.
In this role you will
Oversee the collection, storage and administration of medications to campers and staff following the policies of Avid4 Adventure, State of Colorado, American Camp Association, and local Health Agencies
Assist in a general health screening of all campers and staff during the summer including a general inspection of cabins, unit areas, showers, bathrooms and observation of general camper and staff health
Assist in the organization and administration of regular daily clinic hours, utilizing the current standing orders for issuing treatment and medications
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records via our electronic medical record-keeping system, CampDoc
Oversee the inventory of necessary medical supplies and equipment
Engagement with the campers and staff and be part of the camp experience
Your Background
Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of camp.
Desire to work in a residential camp-based clinic serving children.
Current CO Registered Nurse license or licensure in a compact state that is recognized by the State of Colorado. We are unable to accept a Practical Nurse licenses (LPN)
Important Details
Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with time off throughout each session. This will typically include an extended daily break, 24 hours off per session, and the weekend, (Friday evening to Sunday morning), between each session.
Position Duration: Training begins May 28; Camps run June 1 through August 2.
Compensation: Pay is determined by position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Weekly pay rates start at $1147.50/week. Room and board is provided all summer!
