The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated & Senior M&P (Materials & Processes) Engineer (X-Ray Computed Tomography) to join the Legendary Phantom Works team located in Berkeley, MO.
This position will be integrated with our NDE (Nondestructive Evaluation) Engineering team supporting the Legendary Phantom Works. They will be responsible for the development of new applications of X-Ray Computed Tomography and Digital Radiography at Boeing. The successful candidate will be comfortable with taking X-Ray data using one or more of these existing technologies and passionate about the development of new techniques and equipment within the method.
Position Responsibilities:
Works independently with the direction/mentorship of Principal/Senior Nondestructive Evaluation engineers to develop, certify, qualify, and implement Nondestructive Evaluation technologies across Phantom Works
Mentor early career engineers in the development, certification, qualification, and implementation of Nondestructive Evaluation technology across the enterprise
Author new specifications for computed tomography for use on Boeing Phantom Works programs
Develop Scan Plans and interpret Computed Tomography Data
Develop Statement of Works and Procurement specifications for new Computed Tomography systems to support Boeing Phantom Works Programs
Mature laminography capabilities for incorporation into production
Training of junior level employees
Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. (Bachelor’s & 9+ years or Master’s & 7+ years experience (Level 4))
5+ years of X-Ray Computed Tomography and/or Digital Radiography experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Computer, Chemical, Aerospace, Material Science, Materials Engineering or Computer Science, Chemistry, or Physics
5 years of Aerospace Experience. ASNT/NAS410 Level 3 in Nonfilm Radiography preferred
