Description

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Sales Consultant is to sell merchandise, and service accounts in the assigned route, while maintaining the quality of our products and strong customer relations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Represent company in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
•    Maintain company standards in all accounts.
o    Availability:
    Formulate a plan to achieve distribution of all targeted brands.
    Maintain 100% distribution of all Plan-O-Gram items.
    Maintain inventory levels, proper ordering, and shelf space to eliminate out-of-stocks. 
    Organize and set accounts with proper SKU management.
    When required merchandise deliveries and use on hand inventory to refill displays and shelves in accounts where applicable.
    Transmit customer orders and instructions utilizing the order system accurately and within daily times.

o    Visibility:
    Maintain competitive cooler space, tap space and menu space equal to or above your share of the market. Strive to have 1st position in the cooler door.
    Display and maintain current POS equal to or greater than competitive POS.
    Communicate with Retailer management to sell in potential display locations and/or new tap placements and features
    Construct and maintain as many eye-catching and well-merchandised displays POS placements as possible in each account. 
    Achieve 100% execution on features and monthly display programs where applicable
    Execute chain programming for each retailer
o    Affordability:
    Ensure prices are accurately reflected at store level. Shelf tags, banners, and statics are present and correct for each product on the shelf. (This would include promotional pricing).
    Plan for effective buy-ins and upcoming promotions.
o    Acceptability:

•    Responsible for adhering to CDC/CPB Out of Date Beer Policy by keeping product properly rotated and maintaining accurate inventory levels 
•    Ensure route book in iPad remains updated with current products and current account base. 
•    Transmit customer orders and instructions utilizing the order system accurately and within daily times. 
•    Maintain a working relationship with the Manager of each account. Effectively communicate the Store Manager on new innovations, market trends, price promotions, monthly programs, and opportunities.
•    Listens to and resolve service complaints. 
•    Maintain confidentiality of sales figures for your accounts and for certain chains you may service.
•    Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving points policy.
•    Adhere to safety standards and policies.
•    Ability if needed, to deliver “Hot-Shots” to accounts. 
•    Submit display execution through appropriate tracking system.
•    Maintain proper SKU’s in assigned accounts balancing customer needs and company objectives.
•    Ensure POS is current and in good working order.
•    Communicates with Territory Manager/ Delivery Driver to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.
•    Attending all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
•    Adhere to dress code.
•    Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Broad training in a recognized trade. Equivalent to complete, accredited apprenticeship or equivalent to high school education plus a two-year technical education. One to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY
Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.

MENTAL / VISUAL / AUDITORY DEMAND 
Frequent mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness and activity. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to make decisions on space and SKU management, display size & location, and merchandising opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT
Moderate - Sets up and makes adjustments that could result in damages to specific parts of equipment or software.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL OR PRODUCT
Errors would be detected in succeeding operations; but considerable loss of material or rework time would be involved to correct the errors.

RESPONSBILITY FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS
Only reasonable care to own work is necessary to prevent injury to others, and accidents, should they occur, would be minor in nature.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS
Responsible for own work or occasionally for 1 person.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
•    Clean driving record (MVR) or within company driving policy
•    ABC Beer permit
•    Cicerone Certified Beer Server

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division including decimals and fractions. Understanding of basic Trade Math principles such as margin, mark-up, revenue, profit, and unit cost. Could require simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or diagrams.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is  required to use hands  or fingers,  to handle  equipment or product.,. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
