What you'll do
As a Junior Designer reporting to the Senior Designer, you will be collaborating with the team in the design process of different collections and product lines, from initial concept to final product. You will generate original, relevant designs that align with market demands, the Company’s strategic goals and increase sales. While using a customer-centric mindset, you will contribute to the research, design and development of new products, that will deliver an inspiring, cohesive seasonal collection.
Responsible for creating and updating line sheets, CADS, technical sketches and development packages
Responsible for approvals of all strike-offs, lab dips, and trims from initial design to production.
Work closely with Technical Design, Product Development and Purchasing teams on ensuring product is designed to meet customer needs and the Company’s strategic pillars while adhering to development timelines and target margins.
Responsible for researching and identifying trends, new fabrications, techniques in graphics, printing and dyeing methods.
Participate in fittings with a strong knowledge of construction, fit and fabrications of knits and woven.
Must be detail oriented, maintain calendar deadlines, and work equally well as a self-starter and in a team environment.
Participate in weekly design, development and POD meetings to ensure strong communication and alignment on all ongoing development.
Support team in preparation for major milestone meetings including line reviews, seasonal kickoffs and adoption presentations.
Collaborate with the VP of Design and designers on other product categories to ensure cohesiveness of collection.
Take ownership of at least one full category, developing it from concept to finished product, under the guidance of the Senior Designer, as well as working closely with category Buyer and Development Team.
What you bring
Minimum 2 years design experience
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Similar
Exceptional communication & organizational skills
Detail oriented, self-motivated and ability to prioritize tasks
Demonstrated strong proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office
Experience in PLM and NedGraphics is a plus
Strong sense of color, print and pattern development within the brand aesthetic
