Overview

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Information Security Engineer II/III to join our team! 

 

Under the general direction of the Manager of Information Security, this position is responsible for maintaining the security of the company’s data, systems, and network.

 

Information Security Engineer II 

This position will administer security platforms including but not limited to intrusion detection system, e-mail security filtering, web content filtering, change detection, endpoint security, and data loss prevention. This position will also evaluate and implement new security platforms that strengthen the security posture of the company.  This position handles security incident identification and resolution by formulating and implementing solutions and directing escalating issues to systems engineers as necessary. This position participates in application and infrastructure implementation project teams to security architectures against industry best practices.  

 

Information Security Engineer III

This position will assess the current security controls environment and develop security strategies and roadmaps to mitigate risk.  This position will also evaluate and implement new security platforms that strengthen the security by defining requirements for new security technologies, select those technology solutions through bidding process, and oversee the implementation and configuration of the system.  This position will administer security platforms including but not limited to intrusion detection system, e-mail security filtering, web content filtering, change detection, endpoint security, and data loss prevention. This position establishes security operations processes, procedures, and standards to ensure effective detection and response to threats. This position is the escalation point for all security incidents and actively mentor other team members.

Vacancies will be filled at Information Security Engineer II or III level based on candidate experience. Minimum Salary:  $91,900 Grade 11 or $102,800 (Salary will vary due to skill set)

Responsibilities

Information Security Engineer II

  • Administer key security systems; Intrusion detection, web and data security, e-mail encryption, change audit system, anti-malware software, physical security systems.
  • Perform security related internal controls testing.
  • Investigate security related incidents as needed.
  • Provide technical security consulting to internal customers.
  • Support IT Staff as requested.
  • Research, develop, and implement new security solutions.
  • Support and consult with auditors during audits.Perform other duties as assigned.

Information Security Engineer III

  • Administer key security systems; Intrusion detection, web and data security, e-mail encryption, change audit system, anti-malware software, physical security systems.
  • Establish security operations processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Implement new security technologies - define requirements, research technology solutions, conduct RFPs.
  • Identify security gaps within current detective and preventative, develop strategic roadmaps for improvement of security posture.
  • Provide technical security consulting to internal customers and technical mentoring to other team members.
  • Investigate escalated security related incidents as needed.
  • Communicate security strategy and direction to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Information Security Engineer II 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Business or technical area from a four-year College or University; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess an information security background with high proficiency with Microsoft server products and administration.
  • Ability to work with confidential information, use discretion and best judgment.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Detailed, organized, and thorough with work product.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • CISSP certification desirable.
  • Linux/UNIX experience desirable.

 

Qualifications 

Information Security Engineer III 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Business or technical area from a four-year College or University; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or training in Information Security.
  • Ability to work with confidential information, use discretion and best judgment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of security fundamentals (IDS/IPS, brute-force attack, privilege escalation, lateral movement, etc.)
  • Core knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Network Layers, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Detailed, organized, and thorough with work product.
  • Relevant security industry certifications (i.e. CISSP, CCSP).
  • Demonstrated ability develop security plans strategies to mitigate risk.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Linux/UNIX experience desirable
