The Role


ClearPoint is seeking Senior and Lead Software Engineers to join our Microsoft Practice. As our capabilities continue to grow, we’re partnering with clients on a range of exciting opportunities across multiple industries.


As a Software Engineer at ClearPoint, you will collaborate within cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain high-quality software solutions. Depending on your level of experience, your role will range from hands-on coding to architectural design and technical leadership. Our projects involve modern software engineering practices, cloud-native development, and scalable microservices architectures.


We are looking for engineers with expertise in .NET (C#), ReactJS (TypeScript), and AWS (preferred), and experience with DevOps practices, microservices architecture, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines. If you are customer-focused, thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment, and are eager to build the future, we want to hear from you! This role is a permanent opportunity and we are considering Wellington based candidates.

 

Key Responsibilities


● Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performing applications using .NET (C#) and ReactJS (TypeScript).

● Implement modern software engineering best practices, including microservices, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

● Work with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP for application deployment and scaling.

● Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.

● Utilise containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code solutions.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other engineers.

● Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

● Mentor and support junior engineers (for senior and lead roles).

● Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

 

The experience we’re looking for


Senior Engineers (5-7+ years experience):


● Expertise in designing and building scalable, cloud-native applications.

● Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API development.

● Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud automation.

● Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

● Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and technical problem-solving.


Lead Engineers (8+ years experience):


● Technical leadership experience, guiding teams in software design and delivery.

● Proven ability to drive architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.

● Deep expertise in modern software engineering practices, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps methodologies.

● Experience leading multiple projects and managing technical roadmaps.

● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with clients and leadership teams.

We have a BYOD policy at ClearPoint to allow you to utilise whatever tech takes your fancy. For our permanent staff, we provide a yearly BYOD allowance and phone allowance, so you can choose the tech that best suits your needs. All our permanent staff get an annual training and professional development budget for books, courses and conferences. You’ll also get access to resources from a range of our partners such as AWS, Microsoft, Okta, Snowflake and Salesforce, including training platforms, partner portals, online courses and real-life practice. We also offer a range of lunch and learn sessions; engineering festivals and tech community meet ups to foster networking and sharing of knowledge.
