Outside Sales Consultant - Refractory Industry

Our client is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Consultant to join the team in the refractory services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of refractory services, industrial processes, and the ability to build lasting client relationships. As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing client accounts, and driving revenue growth by providing tailored solutions for customers' refractory needs. Looking for someone to manage Southern Region and be based in that region.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify and target potential clients in industries that use refractory products and services (such as steel, cement, glass, petrochemical, etc.). Develop strategies to build and expand the customer base.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Create and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets. Present and promote refractory services, solutions, and products to clients through direct meetings, phone calls, and online platforms.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and offering customized solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients' refractory service needs.
  • Product Knowledge & Consultative Selling: Provide expert knowledge on refractory services, installations, maintenance, and repair services. Advise clients on product specifications, performance, and benefits. Collaborate with the estimating and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions meet client expectations.
  • Proposal Preparation & Negotiation: Working with estimating, prepare detailed proposals, including pricing, timelines, and scope of services. Lead negotiations to close deals while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Market Research & Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market demands. Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams on customer needs and emerging opportunities.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress in CRM systems. Generate regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and potential opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal teams such as estimating, operations, and finance to ensure smooth project execution and exceptional service delivery to clients.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. A technical background or experience in industrial services is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record in the refractory services industry or similar industrial sectors. Experience in consultative sales and relationship-building with key decision-makers is a must.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with refractory services, products, applications, and related industries is highly desirable. Ability to learn and understand technical specifications and how they apply to client needs.
  • Sales Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels. Demonstrated ability to close sales and meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess client needs and provide practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative in driving sales and achieving targets.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to client sites as needed to conduct site assessments, meetings, and presentations.
