About Crew Dog:

Crew Dog is redefining collegiate wear through high-quality apparel featuring distinctive designs and innovative embroidery licensed by colleges across the country. Founded by Yale students, Crew Dog offers stylish, mascot-inspired apparel tailored to campus groups, Greek organizations, retail partners, alumni, and college enthusiasts. Combining thoughtful, customizable designs with superior garment quality and a modern aesthetic, Crew Dog stands out in the crowded collegiate apparel market, resonating strongly with students, alumni, and groups and gaining recognition from numerous university licensing departments nationwide.

We are licensed at 65+ campuses, including Yale, Brown, Vanderbilt, Michigan, NYU, and Georgetown.  We are growing rapidly and recently raised our first financing round to support our growth. We are looking for a sales director to reach more retail stores and drive campus sales growth as we expand to more schools. The role is as follows:

Role Overview: 

This role is ideal for an ambitious, sales-driven individual who excels in a fast-paced startup environment. We’re looking for someone bold, adaptable, and skilled at building relationships with large retail partners and smaller student-led campus organizations. The ideal candidate can strategically approach market expansion while effectively managing daily sales tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Retail Partnership Development: Actively identify, contact, and nurture relationships with college bookstores and retail outlets nationwide to expand Crew Dog’s market presence.
  • Campus Sales Growth: Drive consistent reorders from existing student organizations and proactively seek out new sales opportunities among Greek life, clubs, athletic teams, and campus events.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate closely with leadership, marketing, and campus growth teams to design and implement tailored sales strategies for diverse campus environments and retail channels.
  • Account Management: Maintain ongoing relationships with existing retail and group customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional product offerings.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed and organized records of customer interactions, sales activities, and follow-up actions within our CRM system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience, ideally in apparel, retail, or collegiate markets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel periodically to visit campuses and retail partners
  • Capable of conducting cold calls, email outreach, and direct customer engagement
  • Experience working with a CRM system (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Preferred proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and experience with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Dall-E, Gemini, and emerging AI sales tools).
  • Professional, enthusiastic, outgoing team player, passionate about growing Crew Dog
