Associate Technical Curriculum Developer

As an Associate Technical Curriculum Developer at Databricks, you will apply your experience in data engineering or data warehousing to assist members of the Databricks curriculum team in designing and developing learning materials in a high-tech environment. In this role, you will play an integral part throughout the full learning content development lifecycle - from helping to design content and create learning assets through the launch and maintenance of training content. The courses you will help develop and maintain will focus on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, data engineering, data warehousing, or data science topics like data processing, data modelling, data management, production, and security.

As a member of the Databricks Curriculum Development Team, you’ll work closely with global stakeholders,  technical subject-matter experts, and other technical curriculum developers to deliver high-impact learning content for both self-paced and instructor-led training. This role requires an aptitude for data engineering and learning technical skills related to other data-related areas like data analysis and data science.

The impact you will have:

  • Assist technical curriculum developers in researching, scoping, designing, and developing hands-on, learner-centric content for data engineering/data warehousing
  • Create learning assets, including hands-on technical exercises, Databricks notebooks, videos, slide decks, and graphics
  • Collaborate with technical curriculum developers, technical trainers, and SMEs to develop training content.
  • Follow content design documents to build multi-modal training for Databricks partners and customers using the latest versions of Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and Python
  • Provide support for day-to-day curriculum operations, including the management and maintenance of training materials and customer-facing technical support for training-related issues

What we look for:

  • 2 years of experience in the field of data engineering, data science, or AI/ML
  • Able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
  • Experience with programming in SQL and Python/Pyspark
  • Experience working in notebooks (Jupyter, Databricks, etc.)
  • Experience with ELT/ETL, data analytics, and dashboarding
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (Git, testing, modularization, etc.)
  • Experience with Databricks Lakehouse platform and its capabilities (notebooks, Jobs, Repos, clusters, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, etc.)
  • [Desired] Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics)
