About the team and role:
We are eBay's Seller Experience Team! We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join us and help build robust and scalable software, help improve our code services and system architecture, participate in brainstorming sessions and supply ideas to our technology, algorithms and products, and work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and deliver results.
We want the highest levels of technical talent and programming skills, as well as a keen desire to deeply understand our products and services to push our technology forward. You’ll work alongside the most creative engineering talent in the industry.
What you will accomplish:
In this role, you’ll integrate closely w/ colleagues in different functional groups and remote offices.
Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues.
Help build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering the world’s largest e-commerce websites at a scale few companies can match.
Convert abstract concepts into viable products using CS fundamentals
Aggregate information from various places and build relationships with key partners to get the information you need and use data to frame out and solve problems
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred with 5+ years of hands on experience.
Proficient in Java, Scala and/or Kotlin, distributed systems, REST.
Programming expertise, proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts, design patterns, and an SDLC technical connoisseur.
Adept with algorithms and data structures, such as dynamic array, linked list, stack, queue, binary search, binary search tree, hash map, depth first search, breadth first search, and merge sort.
Standard scrum process (e.g. stand-ups, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives)

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$95,200 - $168,700Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
