Working Student - IT Admin (all genders) - deadline 13.04.

We are looking for a Working Student (all genders) with a focus on supporting our IT Operations work to join us in our office in Berlin. We are growing and need support in our team’s mission to engage our users and make more people climate-active!

As an IT Administrator at Ecosia, you will work with a cross-functional team to support your colleagues at Ecosia by helping with onboarding & offboarding tasks, optimising existing workflows, solving technical issues, and contributing to IT-related project work.

The role involves on-site presence to support Ecosians in person and handle office-based tasks. Ideally, this would be on Wednesdays and Fridays, when most colleagues are in the office

Your chance to contribute positively

• Manage the IT side of our onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Support access management for our collaboration tools and services such as Google Workspace, Slack, & Atlassian.

• Help out your colleagues by investigating technical issues and solving service requests for both software & hardware.

• Assist in managing and prioritising IT requests using our helpdesk system, ensuring efficient resolution and escalation where necessary.

• Support basic device fault fixing, including macOS and Windows setups, hardware maintenance, and software installations.

• Advance our practices for IT and security within your areas of interest.

• Enhance our collaborative and inclusive culture, in alignment with our core values and ways of working. 

Your areas of skill and knowledge

• Comfortable working with a helpdesk ticketing-based system, while also being flexible for practical problem solving.

• Interest in cybersecurity best practices, particularly in access control.

• Familiarity with basic hardware & software issue resolution.

• You are motivated to dive deep technically, learn and apply best practices, and grow professionally.

• You like to work collaboratively across different teams.

• You can communicate well both written and verbally in English.

Mandatory:

You are currently enrolled as a Bachelor's or Master's student in Germany.

Nice to have:

• Good knowledge of macOS, Windows, & Linux operating systems

• Prior knowledge of MDM or basic concepts of device management

The Hiring Process

Our hiring process consists of a couple of steps:

1. First call (20 - 30min) - meeting the recruiter or hiring manager (your direct lead)

2. On-site interview (40min) - meeting the wider team

NB: This is a 20-hour-a-week position, with a rate of €16 per hour.
