Job Description

The Pilot Plant Scientist will be responsible for performing multiple tasks within the Process Development group in support of biologics manufacturing process. The Scientist will perform a variety of responsibilities in both a team and individual setting. This position is an on-site position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and/or improving pharmaceutical (biologics) manufacturing processes 
  • Planning experiments, routine analytical measurements operating filtration systems, analyzing data, and writing reports
  • Protein purification process development and improvement
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on critical instrumentation
  • Buffer preparation
  • Operate automated processes including process monitoring

Qualifications

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in biological or related sciences;
    • or, High School Diploma with 2 minimum of 2 years pharmaceutical pilot plant engineering experience 
  • Experience with large scale-up equipment
  • Understanding of protein separation
  • Filtration experience
  • Pilot Plant experience
  • Liquid separation experience
  • Preparative Chromatography experience
  • JPM, Minitab and/or Unicorn

Additional Information

  • Position is Full Time, Monday – Friday First Shift. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Kankakee, IL are encouraged to apply. Excellent full-time benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision options.
