Position Overview

Summary: Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, Texas, Inc. is offering exciting summer internships for college students who have completed at least their sophomore year. We provide a supportive and collaborative teaching environment to help interns develop their skills and pinpoint their career goals. This opportunity offers invaluable experience with an industry-leading biopharmaceutical contract development manufacturing organization. Interns will work under the guidance of a department manager on a project focused on enhancing current processes and improving efficiency. Internships typically run from mid-May to August, with specific dates determined collaboratively between the intern, their supervisor, and Human Resources. 

 

The key objective of this internship is to assist with the day to day activities of providing technical support for laboratory and manufacturing systems supported by the Lab Engineering team.

 

Start Date: This internship is set to begin on May 19th, 2025 for an 11-week duration ending on August 8th 2025. 

  

Relocation: Please note this Internship Opportunity is designed to be 100% Onsite, 40 hours/week and a relocation/housing stipend is not provided.

Job Description

 

Essential Functions (will vary based on departmental need): 

  • Conducts DI evaluations to analyze and report on digital information processes.
  • Assists with the LabX project by supporting data collection and management procedures. 
  • Provides user account access support by facilitating account setup, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring security protocols are followed.
  • Contributes to the ViCell Blu project by supporting experimentations and data analysis to advance project goals.

 

Required Skills & Abilities: 

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting evaluations and contributing to projects.
  • Ability to manage user account access systems and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Collaborative skills to work effectively within project teams and departments.
  • General understanding of IT fundamentals and PC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals; Network+ certification is a plus.
  • A+ certification is a plus if demonstrating a grasp of PC maintenance and repair.

  • Experience at any time prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. 
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required. 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.  
  • Attendance is mandatory. 
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE. 

Qualifications: 

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Information Technologies, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated interest in Engineering. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Some knowledge of biotech/biopharma is preferred.
