The Opportunity
Hively is seeking a passionate and skilled part-time Grant Writer to support our fundraising efforts and expand our impact in Alameda County. This role will play a vital part in securing funding from foundations and government sources. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, detail-oriented, and passionate about Hively’s mission.
While most of the work can be done remotely, this is a hybrid role that may require travel to the office as needed. It is a part-time position, typically between 10 and 20 hours per week (up to 30 during busier seasons).

At Hively, our mission is to strengthen and support children and families throughout Alameda County through various programs, including subsidized childcare and mental health support. As a Grant Writer, you will play a vital role in helping us secure funding from foundations and government sources. In collaboration with the CEO and VP of Communications and Development, you'll identify grant opportunities that align with our mission and craft compelling proposals that bring our vision to life. You'll also manage the entire grant application process, keeping track of deadlines and submissions while assisting in grant reporting. This role allows you the flexibility of remote work, though you may need to visit the office occasionally. Your expertise in writing and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining a master calendar of grants and essential documents.
