FAE - Field application engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled RFID and BLE Field Application Engineer to join our engineering and sales teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of RFID and BLE Tags and underlying Automated Identification Systems with expertise in developing, testing, and troubleshooting these products and the associated solutions and manufacturing processes. This position also requires excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers and provide technical support as a trusted advisor. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver secure, reliable solutions that meet industry standards and customer needs.

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for RFID and BLE hardware and software products, assisting customers in identifying appropriate solutions from our product portfolio and recommend industry partners when additional services and technology is required.
  • Collaborate with sales to identify and qualify opportunities for strategic accounts and general inquiries.
  • Conduct proof of concept (POC) evaluations from initial meetings to implementation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and validation of RFID & BLE solutions to guarantee product reliability, performance, and security.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, technologies, and standards related to RFID and BLE hardware and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to customers regarding RFID and BLE Tags.  Support customers with input on design changes or process changes that may be required.
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain relationships with technical resources at all levels of customer organizations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in customer-facing roles with RFID and related Automatic Identification technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of RFID and BLE Tag design and construction
  • Familiarity with RFID protocols such as ISO 18000-63, ISO 14443, and ISO 14443/15693 standards.
  • Knowledge of inlay & label manufacturing, encoding, and converting processes
  • Experience with specialty RFID inlays and multi-component manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Necessary to stay in Sauerlach at least once per week
