Job Purpose:

The Systems Designer is responsible for coordination and design of communications systems in healthcare and education facilities. The Systems Designer is the main technical support for the project managers. Additional responsibilities are the layout of the project, approving equipment submittals and shop drawings, programming guide maintenance, and correct approved material list for material purchasing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze architectural specifications and customer requirements
  • Create communications equipment submittal to owner
  • System layout and design
  • Interact with marketing, project managers, owners, and general contractors
  • Perform system Estimation for the marketing department

 

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years construction related experience

Areas of Specialization:

  • PRIMARY SYSTEMS: Public Address, Intercom, Local Sound, Nurse Call, & RTLS
  • SECONDARY SYSTEMS: CCTV, Access Control, MATV, & Digital Displays
  • CABLING: Structured cabling

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • On the job training may substitute as equivalent

Skills

  • Have knowledge of blueprint reading, job planning, scheduling, inventory, and practical engineering practices
  • Be well versed on computers
  • Have Microsoft Office Applications experience (Office 365 preferred)
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD-LT, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Possess an understanding of basic DC circuit fundamentals.
  • Possess strong analytical & communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and applicable laws

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

 

 

Working Conditions

  • Hours 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday and other times as required by the workload
