A Day in the Life

In this dynamic role as the Diabetes Digital Technology Senior Principal IT Project Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing one or more project teams engaged in global initiatives across Diabetes IT organization. You will have an opportunity to develop and manage all facets of the project(s) from intake through implementation and closure. In partnership with Diabetes IT leaders, Functional managers, and technical team members across the organization, you will be accountable for the successful implementation of the outcomes derived through effective organization and leadership, business case and benefits management, stakeholder management, risk management and issue resolution, planning and control, change management and quality management.

Location: Northridge, CA or Duluth, GA

This position will be a hybrid role based in Northridge, CA or Duluth, GA. The anticipated schedule would be 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines

  • Delegates tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them

  • Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project

  • Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy

  • Communicates with executives and stakeholders on how the project aligns with their goals

  • Adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change

  • Ensures the project adheres to all Diabetes Business Unit and IT policies and standards.

  • Responsible for effectively managing the constraints of project management: Scope, Cost, Schedule.

  • Providing technical and analytical guidance and recommendations to leadership governance bodies.

  • Keeping current on advances and best practices in project management methodologies.

Must Have (Minimum Requirements):
Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional mannee

  • Ability to use discretion when handling confidential information

  • Proven technical project management experience

  • Strong Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and MS Project, PPT

  • Experience in medical device industry, pharmaceutical industry is a strong plus

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$142,400.00 - $213,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
