Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage individual performance by providing regular feedback, setting clear objectives, and supporting career growth through coaching and development plans.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new engineering talent in collaboration with HR and senior management, ensuring the team remains diverse, innovative, and high-performing.

Project & Process Management:

  • Plan and prioritize development initiatives in close collaboration with product managers, ensuring alignment with overall business and product objectives.

  • Ensure agile practices are implemented and followed within the team, driving the team toward incremental, iterative improvements in software delivery.

  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives, continually refining and optimizing processes to improve team productivity and efficiency.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to address dependencies, risks, and bottlenecks, promoting smooth collaboration across teams and departments.

  • Define, track, and communicate key metrics to measure team performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Collaboration with Technical Leads:

  • Partner with technical leads and architects to ensure high-level technical decisions align with product roadmaps and organizational goals.

  • Coordinate resource allocation and remove roadblocks, enabling technical leads and individual contributors to focus on design, coding, and innovation.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by promoting best practices, tools, and techniques recommended by technical experts.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders to define product requirements, scope, and technical solutions that meet both user and business needs.

  • Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership and stakeholders, providing clear and timely communication on project progress, risks, and changes.
  • Align engineering priorities with broader organizational goals and product roadmaps, ensuring the team is focused on high-impact initiatives.
  • Present regular updates to senior leadership on team progress, including successes, challenges, and potential risks or opportunities.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving initiatives to enhance development processes, tooling, and team performance.

  • Encourage the team to explore new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies that could bring efficiency gains or competitive advantages.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, collaborating with technical experts to evaluate potential benefits for the team.
