Responsibilities

Responsible for daily operations of the vascular laboratory with duties including but not limited to performing high quality diagnostic non-invasive vascular examinations involving disorders affecting the vascular systems, providing accurate medical descriptions and preliminary interpretations (verbal and written) for physician review and operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

Requirements for Vascular Technologists I

Initial Qualifications

·       Certified by:

              American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS (RVT),

                      OR

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography ARRT (VS).

                      OR             

·       All sonographers must obtain certification within twelve months of eligibility or cross training.

·       Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employment

                                  

Continuing Education

Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practices

 

 

PREFERRED

 

  • Graduate from an accredited ultrasound, vascular technology
  • Registered Vascular Technologist with two (2) years vascular related experience
  • Performs extracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral venous, peripheral arterial and visceral exams
