Position Summary

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Copywriter to join our marketing team. This role will be responsible for crafting compelling email, social and website copy that converts. You will also collaborate with our SEO agency to produce blog and long-form articles that drive organic traffic. This is considered a highly collaborative role, not only within the marketing team, but amongst other GTM functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecommerce as well as experience in writing for a variety of digital marketing channels.


How You’ll Create Impact
  • Content Production: You know how to create valuable connection, engagement and serious conversion through the power of words. You will produce copy for various content & assets including blogs, guides, case studies, one-pagers, landing pages, webpages, email, social, paid advertising, video scripts, and more.⁠ You understand how to adapt content across each channel to drive maximum impact.
  • Conceptualization: You can translate complex strategic approaches into easily accessible creative concepts. You can create compelling ideas and tag lines for marketing campaigns, GTM launches, events, webinars, etc.
  • Research & Storytelling: You can take a topic or idea, research it, and turn it into a compelling content piece. You will work with other GTM members including sales, product marketing, and success to understand key areas, features, or customers to highlight within these stories to support broader company goals.
  • Mind for SEO: You can take recommended keyword topics and properly integrate them into SEO-driven content pieces. You will be responsible for posting blogs & guides on the website to ensure technical SEO is optimized.
  • Grammar Obsessed: You would never use the wrong “your/you’re” and can ensure all content is consistent in terms of quality across all Okendo touchpoints.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: You can work cross-functionally to help meet copy needs while maintaining a consistent company voice. You don’t have a freelancer attitude- you’re an active marketing team member who consistently contributes ideas and strategies for producing the best content possible.


What We Need From You
  • You have 3+ years of producing elegant, engaging written content and can provide samples. Previous experience with SaaS or e-commerce is highly desirable.
  • You have excellent English writing and communication skills.
  • You are seen as positive, energetic, and exude a strong sense of teamwork by working effectively, respectfully, and efficiently with all team members.
  • You have solid time-management skills with the ability to execute consistently in a fast-paced, high-pressure, dynamic environment and carry out self-directed responsibilities.
  • You understand how content should support the buyer’s journey.
  • You think like a marketer and have the curiosity of a journalist.
  • What we do best is real – no over-produced, air-brushed, advertising, marketese-speak. We leave that to someone else.
  • Bonus if you have experience working with AI to optimize the content production process.


1-Month Success
  • You've completed onboarding and have a grasp of the Okendo product and our target audience.
  • You become familiar with our current content publishing calendar and have started to pick up writing tasks.
  • You're working with each marketing team member to understand their copy needs, the existing brief & content processes, and are thinking through how to better support them.
  • You have weekly one-on-ones with the Sr. Program Manager to prioritize content production for the week.


6-Month Success
  • You're able to turn in high-quality content within the provided timeframe.
  • You have a deep understanding of our product and our industry
  • You have a strong understanding of our target customer base and feel comfortable writing content that is appealing to them across various channels.
  • You’re actively collaborating with each member of the marketing team to support their copy needs
  • You’re actively contributing content ideas during marketing team brainstorms


1-Year Success
  • You understand what type of copy works across various channels, and are continuously testing new content formats and strategies
  • You are actively recommending best practices and strategies to optimize the impact of our content
  • You're showing meaningful development of key skills, putting you on track for a promotion.
