Osmo is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer, to drive the development of our user-facing APIs and applications.

Key Responsibilities

Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve technical and product problems
Architect, design, and implement robust and scalable backend systems and data models.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization (incl. engineering, product, design, and operations)
Elevate our code quality and engineering efficiency and serve as a mentor to engineers across Osmo’s software teams.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of engineering experience building high-reliability systems.
2+ years experience in leading teams and setting the technical direction on user-facing products, including writing technical specifications
Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Typescript, Go, etc.)
Experience working with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Bigtable), with a solid understanding of data modeling and query optimization.
Ability to gather requirements, work across multi-discipline teams, and communicate trade offs throughout a project to meet both technical and business requirements
