We’re seeking a visionary Design Lead, Retail with a deep portfolio of relevant experience to drive the creation of immersive environments at retail locations around the world. In this strategic role, you will conceptualize, manage, and deliver exceptional experiences that seamlessly integrate brand identity, customer insights, and business objectives to shape the way customers engage with our spaces, driving meaningful interactions that lead to sales.

What you will do

  • Lead the vision and roadmap for innovative retail concepts, including store layouts, displays, and fixtures, ensuring alignment with brand and business goals.
  • Lead the design of flexible, modular systems and optimize space layouts to enhance functionality, engagement, and adaptability to retail trends.
  • Develop and implement user journey strategies informed by research insights to shape impactful retail experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and user research, to ensure cohesive and user-centered designs.
  • Prototype and refine design elements in partnership with vendors and engineering teams, ensuring feasibility and quality.
  • Stay at the forefront of retail design trends, technologies, and consumer behavior to inspire and drive innovation.

This is a remote US role with a preference for candidates based on the east coast.

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in retail, commercial, or experiential design, including strategic leadership and cross-functional team management
  • Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Blender) and rendering tools like V-Ray or KeyShot
  • Strong spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead user-centered design from strategy through execution
  • Proven ability to integrate customer insights and user research into innovative, functional retail experiences
  • Passion for continuous learning and driving innovation in retail design and customer engagement
  • Highly adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Organized and efficient multitasker, comfortable managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong collaborator and communicator, effective in small team environments aligned toward shared goals and vision

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1: $126,000 - $157,000
  • Region 2: $115,000 - $144,000
  • Region 3: $108,000 - $135,000
