Platform Manager

Across 20+ years of delivering financial planning and analytics products that are powerful yet simple to use, we’ve tackled complex challenges head-on. Along the way, we’ve had our share of failures, but we learn fast, adapt, and keep moving forward.

This mindset keeps us at the leading edge—creating products that don’t just help businesses; they change the way people work.

We don’t believe in micromanagement. We empower our teams to solve customer problems in the best way they see fit—trusting them to make good decisions, take ownership, and drive meaningful impact.

We move fast, but never recklessly. Learning and improvement are key to our success, so we set aside time for everyone to focus on personal growth — because better people build better products.

We work hard, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Whether it’s running a paper aeroplane competition, our weekly group curry expedition or celebrating wins together, we believe work should be fun.

Our Platform team supports the operation, availability, performance and scaling of the infrastructure that underpins the Phocas applications. Your leadership will help expand Phocas’ global reach and ensure we remain at the forefront of business intelligence software delivery.

As Platform Manager you'll:

  • Ensure disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
  • Manage incident response and outage remediation.
  • Collaborate across teams to enhance service quality.
  • Evaluate and implement cloud solutions.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 10+ years managing large-scale platforms, with 3+ years leading teams.
  • Deep cloud (preferably AWS) expertise, with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Hands-on experience running a 24/7 global SaaS platform.
  • Strong background in security, disaster recovery, and risk management.
  • Proven leader who drives change, innovation, and efficiency.
  • Great communicator who works seamlessly across teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and always looking to improve.

Phocas is an Accredited Employer and typically we are strong supporters of international talent, but due to current visa settings and processing times, we are only considering applicants with current NZ working rights for this position.
