Visual Content Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State’s Office of Strategic Communications (the University’s central public relations and marketing division) seeks a part-time intern to assist with various aspects of visual content production and post-production. This position offers hands-on experience and is an ideal opportunity for students looking to develop their technical and visual storytelling skills.

This is a 10- to 12-week internship with University Marketing’s creative services team and requires working 6 hours per week at $15 per hour. Candidates are required to be current Penn State students at University Park campus.

The intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with editing and post-production tasks
  • Capture visual content for social media platforms
  • Identify and engage with colleges, departments, labs, groups, students, and events as potential subjects for visual content
  • Attend events as needed
  • Provide team support when needed


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong visual style and passion for experimentation in visual storytelling
  • Is familiar with Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve
  • Is self-motivated and can work independently and in teams
  • Can receive constructive feedback and apply it to improve content
  • Understands current social media trends and digital storytelling techniques
  • Has the ability to connect Penn State’s goals and values to overall content strategy
