About the Role 

The Segment General Manager role will own the overall segment plan for a vertical of customers over the medium-long term based on deep customer, competitor and market insights which they proactively share with the Product, Technology, Content, Sales, Marketing, Operations, GM and Finance teams (the ‘Virtual Team’). This includes co-developing the medium term budget & strategy plan with key drivers and assumptions in collaboration with the General Manager and the Virtual Team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Being responsible for the top line financial performance and go-to-market execution of your vertical segment
  • Providing strategic direction for your segment through defining goals, milestones and objectives to ensure maximum revenue growth
  • Defining, tracking and monitoring segment success metrics
  • Building impactful relationships with key customers and associations, senior stakeholders and influencers within the relevant markets
  • Identifying business and go-to-market transformation projects, product development opportunities and priorities for your portfolio
  • Leading projects and investment cases to develop new propositions and new or adjacent market opportunities
  • Identifying and launching key partnerships for distribution channels and new product creation
  • Building impactful relationships with key customers and associations, senior stakeholders and influencers within the relevant markets
  • Contributing to the groups M&A strategy by identifying targets businesses and working with internal teams to assess synergies and attractiveness

Requirements:

  • Have proven experience in a business leadership role, typically in strategy, go-to-market or product development environments
  • Be able to present information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of methods
  • Demonstrate experience in using a data-driven approach to provide insights, guidance and opportunities to business stakeholders
  • Be able to translate business priorities into operational reality
  • Demonstrate a customer-centric perspective to ensure solutions meet customer and business needs
  • Show experience of building strategic and operational plans for future growth, using customer insight and analysis
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to build influential relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and financial literacy
  • Have proven experience in successfully collaborating, motivating, influencing and coordinating other stakeholders
