The Associate Mechanical Design Engineer will perform technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes that have a significant impact on the company.
What you will be doing:
• Read and understand design standards for all processes used in the mechanical engineering department
• Shadow experienced engineers throughout a design process to understand the scope of requirements
• Create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks that utilize the correct design workflows for part releases
• Prepares project development plans including scope, schedule, and resources
• Works in conjunction with designers and technicians towards achieving desired project goals
• Directs experimental manufacture and testing of prototypes when required
• Demonstrates ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and clearly communicate technical status of assigned projects
• Operate additive equipment to produce quick prototypes and mockups
• Become familiar with and understand the capabilities of the in-house machine shop
• Create metal fixtures and prototypes with correct processes in the machine shop
• Embrace the concept of “fail early and fail often” to achieve acceptance of a design
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Attend all required company training
• Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Purpose, Mission and Values by leading, acting, and modeling
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager
Must have for this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
• 0 – 1 years of Mechanical Design experience
• Previous project work within school environment or workplace
• 3D CAD experience including SolidWorks CAD System
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge
• Willing desire to learn and to be teachable
Nice to have:
• Previous experience using additive manufacturing
• Internship in a manufacturing environment
• Hands on creation of mechanical systems
Travel Requirement: 5% or less

For this position, the typical annual starting base salary is from $69,854 to $81,941, which does not include variable incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Your individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, geographical location, and/or experiences.
